Hold the date! This will be Aswat's spring performance. Aswat is a rather large Arabic ensemble, focusing on gorgeous traditional and folk music from all corners of the Arabic lands. I will have a solo, accompanied by the incomparable Faisal Zedan and Wael Kakish! I am thrilled about it. I will be nervous later. This will probably be at the College of San Mateo again. Our wonderful friend Dan Ziagos is up from San Diego to perform with Turlu at St. Gregory of Nyssa Church in San Francisco. Turlu is Nuri Bal (percussion), Shea Comfort (duduk, clarinet), Leslie Bonnett (vocals, violin), Michael Matthews (clarinet), Hudi Brenman (accordian), Dan Ziagos (accordian) and Lily Storm (vocals), performing Greek, Bulgarian, Rom and Turkish folk dances.
